Empire is airing its finale tonight. The show will be remembered, of course, for Taraji P. Henson’s dynamic portrayal of the forceful Cookie, and Terrence Howard’s performance as the tortured Lucious. There’s something else the show will always be known for — music.
New Empire Videos
Fox has released two videos highlighting the music of Empire as a gift to the show’s loyal viewers. The first video is titled We Run with the Lyons. The description reads: “One final mic drop. Working in partnership with EMPIRE cast Ta’Rhonda [Jones, who plays Porsha], Gabby [Sidibe, who plays Becky] and Serayah [Ranee McNeil, who plays Tiana] we created a custom rap song to remind fans why they obsessed about this game-changing show.”
The other video is a “Thank You to the Fans” in which Henson, Howard, Fox, Sidibe, Jones, Ta’Rhonda, Serayah and others express their thanks to the loyal viewers of Empire, who supported the show from the beginning and made it one of TV’s most memorable programs.
“To the fans that have stayed by us,” began an emotional Henson.
“We so appreciate your support,” added Fox. “You have made Empire one of the most amazing shows on television,” said Fox.
“I adore you and I love you,” Sidibe says.
“All of the viewers who have watched Empire have kept us here,” says Serayah.
“Hopefully, we will not disappoint [viewers] in the telling of this story,” noted Howard.
Empire was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. The finale of Empire airs tonight at 9 p.m. on Fox.
