The wait is almost over! Empire is soon coming back for its final 10 episodes. Now, viewers can see a sneak peek as to what’s ahead for Cookie, Lucious, the rest of the Lyon clan as well as their friends and foes as the hit primetime soap gets ready to wrap its incredible run.
As fans of the show recall, the mid-season cliffhanger last December left off with Tracy (Amanda Detmer) holding a gun on both Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious (Terrence Howard), who were in the process of reconciling. “We ain’t done yet,” said Lucious, but Tracy’s gun may make a liar out of him!
Additionally, Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) and Tiana (Serayah) were brought back together. Yana (Kiandra Richardson) came to the realization that Lucious was using her. She shared this with her dad Damon (Wood Harris).
Meanwhile, Bossy Media gets one star in Melody (Alexandra Gray) and just might be losing a partner in Gisele (Nicole Ari Parker). So what can anxious viewers expect in the finale? Showrunner Brett Mahoney reminded EW what the show has always been about and will always be about.
“It’s all about family,” Mahoney says. “It’s such an explosive family with so much drama but also so much love for one another, so the question is, will the love they have for one another be able to withstand all of the drama that they bring to it?
“And will they come out of these last 10 episodes standing, or will they come out of it torn apart? It’s really getting to the core issues of family and the Lyon family, right where we started.” Empire returns Tuesday, March 3 at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
