In the above promo video released by the hit Fox show, we see Candace (Vivica A. Fox) raise a glass and suggest a toast to Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) impending divorce from Lucious (Terrence Howard). “You can’t pick your family,” says Fox, “and sometimes your family can get on your damn nerves, but they’re family.”
“Can Teri (Meta Golding) and Andre’s (Trai Byers) marriage survive?” asks Gabourey Sidibe (Becky). “The thought of losing you, Teri, it would kill me,” Andre tells her. “Nothing survives Andre,” suggests Sidibe, adding wryly, “Andre is not surviving Andre!”
Lucious is starting to figure out that Cookie is keeping a secret, but even he’s not aware yet of just how deep a secret it is! “Whatever it is, you know you can talk to me about it,” Lucious tells Cookie.
“Cookie is slowing down,” previews Sidibe, “and she is remembering killing someone wherein she feels the need to repent and admit what she has done.”
Empire is created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong. The show is a joint production by Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox. Filmed in Chicago, Empire is set in New York City. The show tells the story of the Lyon family and its entertainment company Empire Entertainment. Empire airs tonight, Tuesday, on Fox at 9 p.m.
