The music industry loves pitting women against women, and this season of Empire proved just that. In a flashback video from Season 5, Jamal (Jussie Smollett) brings Tiana and Treasure, two of Empire’s best artists, to the studio to discuss their beef.
“We’ve got two strong, black female artists. These men are here pitting y’all against each other to distract you from what your actual power is — ya’ll together. Take all of that power and put it into the music,” he tells them.
