Empire Mom and Cookie
Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) doesn’t seem to be afraid of anybody on Empire, but she may be a little bit scared of her estranged mother, Renee (Alfre Woodard), and for good reason.
In this literal flashback video above from Season 4, Cookie is visited in prison by her mother, who she hadn’t spoken to in years. Despite the rift between them, it’s clear Renee wants to connect with her daughter. It’s also easy to see who Cookie takes after!
