Nobody can stop Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) when she has a plan, and ruining Lucious’s (Terrence Howard) wedding to Anika (Grace Byers) way back in Season 1 of Empire was executed masterfully. But Cookie had a very good reason for blowing Anika out of the water.
In this flashback clip above, Cookie reveals to Lucious — while he’s in the middle of wedding planning, by the way — that Anika is marrying him so she can steal all of his money. Now you just know that’s not something that’s going to sit well with Cookie.
