Empire Actress Amanda Detmer Arrested For DUI Over Weekend

Empire, the hit Fox series about the Lyons family and the music world, is in the news once again. One of the show’s cast members has been arrested after driving intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.

Empire Star Arrested

TMZ reports that Amanda Detmer — the actress who plays Tracy on the Fox nighttime soap — was arrested for DUI on Sunday night in Chico, CA. She’s charged with not only drinking while driving but also leaving the scene of an accident after her car struck a pole.

Police discovered her vehicle, which had severe front-end damage, and were able to confirm she was responsible for the collision.

In addition to her role on Empire, Detmer’s credits include roles in Final Destination, You, Me, and Dupree, and The Majestic. She’s been a regular on the series What About Brian, Second Chances, and Necessary Roughness.

Detmer received her Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Stuff ranked her #17 in its 101 Sexiest Women issue in 2001.

According to IMDB, Detmer has appeared in 12 episodes of Empire. Her first episode was titled “Treasons, Stratagems, and Spoils,” which first aired on November 18, 2018. Detmer’s Tracy was revealed to be the mother of Jeff Kingsley (A.Z. Kelsey), who blamed Lucious (Terrence Howard) for getting his mother hooked on drugs, causing her to suffer severe health issues.

Empire has made numerous headlines over the last several months related to Jussie Smollett (ex-Jamal), who claimed to have been attacked in Chicago. Later, it was reported that those claims were falsified. Empire airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox. The show is currently in its 6th and final season.
