When Joan Collins played Alexis on Dynasty, she once escaped a burning cabin. Scarily, life imitated art recently when the actress’s London home was engulfed with fire!
According to published reports, on April 13, just before 4:30 p.m. local time, an inferno broke out at Collins’ home in London. The fire department quickly responded to the blaze.
Fortunately, Collins’ husband, Percy Gibson, had extinguished most of the flames first. However, Collins posted on social media “#donttakethisrisk” adding she has nothing but gratitude for the firefighters.
“THANK U from the bottom of my [heart] the marvelous @LondonFire who attended to the terrifying fire yesterday in our flat,” posted Collins, who also thanked paramedics who tended to her after the blaze.
It took approximately 10 firefighters to handle the situation. According to authorities, the case of the blaze is not being treated as suspicious.
Check out Collins’ social media posts below. One shows Collins and her daughter, Tara Arkle, after the blaze and the other shows her flat following the fire. Mother and daughter took a walk in a nearby park to get some fresh air.
Ironically, the reboot of Dynasty, which airs on Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW, wrote a fire into the show. The character of Alexis (Nicollette Sheridan) was burned recently in a fire. When her bandages come off, watch for a new actress to be playing the part.
In addition to her Golden Globe-winning run as Alexis on Dynasty, Collins also played the part of Alexandra Spaulding on Guiding Light.
THANK U from the bottom of my ❤️ to the marvelous @LondonFire who attended to the terrifying fire yesterday in our flat. #threealarmfire My hero Percy had already doused the flames consuming the entire wall with handheld extinguisher (#donttakethisrisk). #gratitude #firefighters
