Dean Unglert Is Not Interested in Colton Underwood For “Bachelor”

Though most of the public seems to love America’s new Bachelor Colton Underwood, Dean Unglert is voicing his concerns.

The former Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise star opened up about why he’s not happy with the choice while in Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend for the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

“I’m here to say one thing and one thing only. Colton for Bachelor? Not my Bachelor,” the 27-year-old told Entertainment Tonight.

Colton came in fourth place on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette and then went on last season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Though neither of the shows worked out for the former NFL star, the 26-year-old is hoping his shot at The Bachelor will lead him to the woman of his dreams.

Dean, on the other hand, believes the Season 23 leading man is not the right person for the job.

“You know, he’s a little young. He’s younger than me. But I don’t necessarily see him marrying the woman that he chooses,” Dean continued.

While Colton, who is only 26 years old, may believe he’s ready for love, Dean believes he may fall victim to the pressures of reality TV.

“Well, you saw it on Paradise, right? You saw him say something along the lines of, ‘I am the person that I think everyone wants me to be,’ and the public pressure to be someone is very real on The Bachelor,” the reality star shared.

“I think he’ll do what he thinks people will want him to do and not what’s necessarily right for him.”

In fact, Dean wishes two other contestants from Becca’s season of The Bachelorette were considered instead of Colton.

“Jason [Tartick], Blake [Horstmann], oh my God…both incredibly humans and both just as deserving if not more deserving than than all of us for love. I love Colton, don’t get me wrong, but not my Bachelor,” Dean shared.

We’ll see how Colton does as The Bachelor when the new season premieres in January 2019.
