A Scary DOUBLE Elimination On Dancing With The Stars – Just In Time For Halloween!

It was a Halloween Spook-tacular night on Dancing With the Stars last night — but even scarier than the costumes was the show’s double elimination!

Victoria Arlen and Valentin Chmerkovskiy; Viennese Waltz, 27/30
Val got hardcore in the pre-dance package. First, he said that Victoria cheated death so she can be victorious over front-runners Jordan Fisher and Lindsey Stirling.

Then, he pulled the “tough love” bit with his partner. Whenever we see that we wonder if it’ll affect their routine for better or worse. This time, it was definitely for the better.

Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold; Paso Doble, 30/30
This was a sexy and strong routine. We’re sure the pros hate hearing this but we can’t tell in this pairing who’s the pro and who’s the celeb. This is Jordan’s Mirror Ball Trophy to lose.

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev; Jive, 24/30
If Tom Bergeron picks up one more fallen item (this week, it was Nikki’s name tag) off the dance floor, he’s going to have to join the union. Judges were luke-warm about this routine. Couples need more than 8’s to survive at this point in the competition.

Vanessa Lachey and Maksim Chmerkovskiy; Paso Doble, 24/30
Can’t say we’re a fan of these routines with multiple dancers joining the main couple. Maybe it hampered their routine. Or, maybe it’s just that Maks and Mel B.’s Paso Doble from season 5 can’t be matched?

Terrell Owens and Cheryl Burke; Tango, 25/30
Terrell and Cheryl’s momentum continued. Len Goodman praised Cheryl. Forget who wins this season — will Cheryl return for season 26 is out question.

Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas; Paso Doble, 27/30
Lindsey displaced a rib (ouch!), but she and Mark manage to pull off their routine. Carrie Ann Inaba called Lindsey a “beast!”

Frankie Muniz and Witney Carson; Contemporary, 30/30
They were going for “creepy” and….mission accomplished. The judges loved it.

Drew Scott and Emma Slater; Charleston, 27/30
Was it the comeback of the night? Tom Bergeron thought so and called Drew “Lazarus.”

Group Dances #TeamMonster v. #TeamPhantomOfTheBallroom
#TeamMonster (Jordan/Lindsay, Lindsey/Mark, Terrell/Cheryl and Nikki/Artem) v. #TeamPhantomOfTheBallRoom (Frankie/Witney, Drew/Emma, Vanessa/Maks, and Victoria/Val)Carrie Ann said #TeamMonster “under-danced,” but said “they went for it.” #TeamMonster earned 24 points.

Bruno Tonioli called the next group’s routine “flawless.” #TeamPhantomOfTheOpera earned 30!Despite being part of #TeamPhantom, Vanessa and Maks were voted off. Also voted off in last night’s surprise double-elimination: Nikki and Artem.

Next week: past Mirror Ball Champions and Runner Ups, including Kelly Monaco (General Hospital), return for the trio dances.
