The wait is finally over! After speculation and teases on social media from the Dancing With the Stars official Twitter handle, the cast for DWTS Season 29 has been revealed! The lineup includes an actress, an NFL star, and a member of one of the most famous boy bands ever.
Dancing With the Stars Cast Revealed
The roster was revealed on Good Morning America this morning. The full lineup, which includes some familiar names from the soap world, is as follows:
Anne Heche (ex-Vicky/Marley, Another World), Jesse Metcalfe (ex-Miguel, Passions; ex-Christopher, Dallas), Kaitlyn Bristowe (The Bachelorette), AJ McLean (Backstreet Boys), Vernon Davis (ex-NFL), Carole Baskin (Tiger King), Chrishell Stause (Selling Sunset; ex-Jordan, Days of our Lives), Monica Aldama (Cheer),Jeannie Mal (The Real), Nelly (singing superstar), Nev Schulman (Catfish), Skai Jackson (Jessie), Justina Machado (One Day at a Time), Johnny Weir (Olympic Figure Skater), and Charles Oakley (NBA superstar).
The returning pro dancers include Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Sharna Burgess, Cheryl Burke, Val Chmerkovskiy, Sasha Farber, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Pasha Pashkov, Gleb Savchenko, Emma Slater, and Britt Stewart. Karagach and Stewart are new to the pro dancer lineup.
DWTS Season 29 was already making headlines earlier this summer when it was announced that beloved host Tom Bergeron would not be returning to ballroom to emcee the reality dance competition. Tyra Banks (America’s Next Top Model) is the show’s new host. Host Erin Andrews, who competed on the series in Season 10 with pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy, is also not returning.
ABC has not confirmed that judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli will be returning to the judges’ table. The three have been judges since the show’s inception.
Who do you think is going to win the coveted mirror ball trophy this year? Of the pro dancers, Farber, Motsepe, Pashov, Savchenko, and, naturally, as it’s their first seasons, Stewart and Karagach, have yet to take home the top trophy.
