While most of the NASCAR world seems to side with Donald Trump’s assessment of the NFL take a knee protests, Dale Earnhardt Jr. took an astonishing stand on the issue!
Recently, President Donald Trump spoke out against NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem in protest saying they should be fired.
The comments started a firestorm with many professional athletes speaking out against the president over the weekend. However, many of NASCAR’s biggest names sided with the president’s sharply worded thoughts on the matter.
According to a TMZ report, Earnhardt Jr. parted with his NASCAR peers and spoke out in favor of the NFL players who have started taking a knee during the National Anthem before their games in protest.
He tweeted, “All Americans R granted rights 2 peaceful protests.” He also included a quote he attributed to JFK that said, “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”
That’s a sharp difference from Richard Petty who said, “Anybody that don’t stand up for that ought to be out of the country. Period.”
