Country singer Justin Carter has passed away after being involved in an accidental shooting. The shooting happened during a music video with a gun that was meant to be used as a prop.
The gun used for a music video killed Carter inside of his apartment, but there are not many details on his death just yet, according to ABC News.
The rising star recently signed with Triple Threat Management and was working on growing in the country music scene.
“Justin had a potential to, you know, in our eyes, and a lot of people’s eyes to be the next Garth Brooks,” Mark Atherton from Triple Threat shared.
“His music was his world. He was always there for everybody,” his mother Cindy McClellan said.
His management team is planning on releasing the music he had been working on. All proceeds will go to his family.
Fans also responded to his death on social media.
“Very sad. Even props are supposed to be handled in this manner,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Thoughts and prayers,” another person added.
Somebody else wrote “Sad day indeed.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this very difficult time.
