Convicted Felon Martha Stewart Calls College Admissions Scandal ‘Embarrassing’

Martha Stewart, who is no stranger to legal troubles of her own, is sharing her thoughts on the college admissions scandal. The TV legend opened up about the drama surrounding Felicity Huffman, Lori Loughlin, and the countless other parents involved in the bribery scheme.

“It’s just embarrassing for a family to go through what they’re going through and horrifying that it even occurred. It’s a sad thing,” she told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday, April 11.

“That’s showbiz! You can’t make it up. I can’t even read fiction because real [life] is better than any fiction.”

Despite the scandal, however, Stewart does believe Huffman will still have a career following the scandal. This makes sense coming from Stewart, as she served a five-month sentence after being convicted of felony charges back in 2004.

Not to mention, the 77-year-old has been able to bounce back herself following her time in jail. She’s not only released a number of books and has appeared on various television shows, she’s also created a merchandising company called Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia.

She also recently joined the cannabis company Canopy Growth as an advisor. The bottom line? Going to the slammer hasn’t stopped Stewart from raking in the cash.

This also comes just a few days after Huffman plead guilty to mail fraud and apologized for her wrongdoing.

“I am pleading guilty to the charge brought against me by the United States Attorney’s Office. I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions,” Huffman said in a public statement.
