Trevor Donovan is joining Season 2 of When Hope Calls.
The new details of When Hope Calls are finally here. Great American Family previously teased that Season 2 would premiere in 2025. At first, it was reported to air as soon as this month, but it was pushed back again.
TV Insider shared the new details of Season 2 of When Hope Calls. It’s now scheduled for the spring of 2025. The inaugural season originally aired on Hallmark in 2019. In 2021, it was picked up by GAF. The network shocked Hopefuls with two Christmas episodes. The When Calls the Heart spinoff will drop its Season 2 premiere on Sunday, April 6 on GAF.
The drama will look a little different this time around. There are some fresh faces added to the show. The series initally followed sisters Lillian Walsh (Morgan Kohan) and Grace Bennett (Jocelyn Hudon) in the small town of Brookfield. At the end of Season 1, Grace traveled to London. Hudon didn’t return for the Christmas specials. Lillian is the only remaining sister in town.
Season 2 will still “pay homage to the romance” that’s brewing between Lillian and Gabriel (Ryan-James Hatanaka). Meanwhile, there will be new characters in the mix, including Nora (Cindy Busby), Michael (Christopher Russell), and Wyatt (Nick Bateman). In addition, 90210 alum Trevor Donovan is joining the cast as Constable Jim Reynolds.
Season 2 of When Hope Calls will kick off in April 2025. However, Pure Flix will have the first three episodes three days earlier. This is a great option for Hopefuls who don’t want to wait any longer for the Season 2 premiere. (Here’s how to watch When Hope Calls Season 1.)
This season will be different from the first for many reasons. Season 1 had 10 episodes, while Season 2 will only have eight episodes. Other returning cast members from Season 1 include Hanneke Talbot (Maggie) and Hatanaka (Gabriel). Lori Loughlin will not reprise her role as Abigail Stanton, as she did in the 2021 Christmas episodes. (Find out Loughlin’s shocking new role.)
