Her characters generally have very little to celebrate – though they do much chastising, preening, and lamenting. Luckily, the same can’t be said for actress Christina Applegate who has an exciting milestone to fete.
And that’s because she was born on November 25, 1971, in, Hollywood, California, which means that this talented performer is turning 49 years old today! Applegate made her TV debut in 1972, opposite her mother, actress Nancy Priddy, on the daytime soap opera Days of our Lives.
Subsequently, Applegate appeared in commercials for Playtex baby bottles. She made her film debut in the 1981 horror picture Jaws of Satan (AKA King Kobra), which was followed by roles in Beatlemania (1981), the 1983 biopic Grace Kelly (in which Applegate portrayed a young Grace), and the political comedy series Washingtoon.

In 1987, Applegate joined the inaugural cast of the FOX sitcom Married…With Children. For the next 10 years, she would star as the sexually promiscuous and dimwitted Kelly Bundy.
During her tenure with the Ed O’Neill/Katey Sagal-fronted series, Applegate continued to appear in other film and TV ventures. She had main parts in the silver screen efforts Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead (1991), Across the Moon (1994), Vibrations (1995), Wild Bill (1995), Mars Attacks (1996), and Nowhere (1997) and she also guest-starred on 21 Jump Street (1988), Top of the Heap (as the Kelly Bundy character; 1991), and Pauly (1997).

In 2016, she was cast as Gwendolyn in the comedy film Bad Moms with Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn, and Kristen Bell — and the gang reunited in its sequel the following year, A Bad Moms Christmas with Justin Hartley added to the cast. Since 2019, Applegate has played Jen Harding in the Netflix series Dead to Me with Linda Cardellini.
