There is no question that NBC’s beloved Tuesday night drama This Is Us had a big day this past Tuesday after the 2019 Primetime Emmy Award nominations were announced — and many of the reactions were priceless.
That’s because not only was the show nominated for Best Drama for the third year in a row, but the show also picked up a total of seven acting nominations! Sterling K. Brown and Milo Ventimiglia were both nominated for Best Actor in a Drama for their roles as Randall Pearson and Jack Pearson, respectively.
Mandy Moore landed her first Emmy nomination for playing family matriarch Rebecca Pearson. She earned a Golden Globe nomination back in 2017 for the first season but had yet to receive any love from the Emmys until this year.
Chris Sullivan, who plays Toby, also earned his first Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actor, while Ron Cephas Jones (a past winner for his role as William), Michael Angarano (Nick), and Phylicia Rashad (Carol) all got Best Guest Star nominations.
This Is Us faces stiff competition this year, especially with a show like Game of Thrones being up for so many awards, but it’s a great sign for network television that this show keeps raking up nominations every single year.
