Captain America Actress Accused of Killing Her Mother

Mollie Fitzgerald, an actress who had a role in Captain America: The First Avengers is no hero as she stands accused of committing a horrible fatal attack on her mother in Kansas.

TMZ is reporting that police arrested Fitzgerald on Tuesday in Olathe, Kanas. She’s been charged with second-degree murder and her bail was listed as $500,000.

Fitzgerald’s mother, Patricia, 68, was found dead from what appeared to be a stab wound on December 20. Officers responded to a call of an armed disturbance inside the mother’s home. The younger woman, who had minor injuries, was taken to a local hospital.

Full details of the case have yet to be revealed. Fitzgerald played the character of ‘Stark girl’ in the 2011 Captain America film. Her other credits include King of Wishful Thinking, Trouble Is My Business, Girl of My Dreams, The Lawful Truth, and Absurd Illusions.

She was interviewed by Comic Book Movie about her experience working on the Marvel film. “It was a lot of fun to shoot, and I could go on for hours about the magic of Anna Sheppard and her team in the costume department,” the actress said. “They were some of my favorite people to work with. Although my part is small in this film, I did get to work closely with Dominic Cooper for a few minutes and that was wonderful.

“Joe Johnston is an unbelievable director, and I’ve learned a lot about directing from him. Being a part of this production has been one of the best experiences of my life. From the standpoint of acting in the film, my part is very small so it didn’t take long to shoot.

“Thanks to our great producers and production department, it’s been a pretty smooth ride. There’s a great deal of work going on all of the time, so you’ve got to pay attention and have complete awareness of your surroundings.” Mollie Fitzgerald was set to be arraigned today.
