Bradley Cooper is no stranger to the Academy Awards — he has been nominated four times, after all — but he has definitely never performed at the Oscars!
However, that’s all about to change in just a few short weeks when the 44-year-old and his A Star Is Born co-star, Lady Gaga, perform Shallow at the big show.
Their spectacular duet, which is nominated for Best Original Song, is sure to be a major moment during the telecast but that doesn’t mean the actor isn’t scared out of his mind!
“I think we’re going to sing it. I’m sure I’ll be terrified,” he told E! News on Saturday, February 2 at the Director’s Guild of America ceremony.
But, this won’t be the first time Bradley and Gaga will be singing this song live.
In fact, they recently performed together during her Las Vegas residency show on January 26 when she pulled him on stage.
“That was terrifying. Yes. I just had to zen out and just pray that I wasn’t going to ruin her show. Because think about it, she just crushed it for two hours,” he shared.
“And I thought, ‘Please, let me just be on pitch.’”
Not only was Bradley on pitch, the performance completely took the world by storm and was watched on YouTube millions of times.
Shallow is up against four other songs for the Best Original Song Oscar — The Place Where Lost Things Go from Mary Poppins Returns, All the Stars from Black Panther, When a Cowboy Trades His Spurs For Wings from The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and I’ll Fight from RBG.
A Star Is Born is also up for a number of other Oscars, including Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Picture.
The Oscars will air on February 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
