Bindi Returns To Animal Planet A Decade After Dad Steve’s Death

Bindi Irwin was a smash hit on Dancing with the Stars when she won the coveted Mirrorball Trophy two years ago. Now, the enchanting 19-year-old is returning to the small screen with her mom and brother to carry on the family tradition.

Remember when her tribe was last together on Animal Planet?

That was when The Crocodile Hunter aired on the cable network from 1996 to 2007. It was also when her mesmerizing dad, Steve, was still alive. In fact, he was a really big deal in his role as a globally-recognized conservationist.

Well, the family this Aussie left behind when a stingray’s sting stopped his heart continues to keep his legacy alive.

They’re doing so by “running a zoo, a wildlife preserve and supporting projects that try to save endangered animals worldwide,” according to the Associated Press (AP) via MSN.

That’s why mom Terri has decided now is a good time to get back on air. She told the news outlet it’s because all three Irwins “do so many things together as a family.”

No doubt this unnamed Animal Planet project with Bindi Irwin and the rest of her family will provide just that opportunity–in spades!
