Big News For Felicity Huffman In Varsity Blues Scandal

Felicity Huffman became the face of the Varsity Blues scandal in which wealthy parents were arrested for attempting to rig the system and get their children into top universities and colleges. The former Desperate Housewives actress was back in a Boston courtroom Monday to officially plead guilty.

TMZ.com is reporting that Huffman has acknowledged her guilty plea that she made with prosecutors. An assistant U.S. attorney stated in the courtroom that the government will request that Huffman be sentenced to four months in prison and a fine of $20,000.

The prosecutors noted that they could have gone after the Emmy-winning actress on a charge of money laundering as they have with defendants who did not make a guilty plea as Huffman has done.

TMZ also reports that Huffman revealed that her daughter suffered from learning disabilities throughout her life. Huffman will be officially sentenced in September.

What’s unknown at press time is the fate Lori Loughlin will face. Unlike Huffman, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli, who has also been charged, refused to make a plea deal and instead have entered pleas of not guilty.

Huffman’s husband, William H. Macy (Shameless), did not accompany his wife to court today. Her brother Moore did.
