After nine years of marriage, BH90210 star Ian Ziering and his wife, Erin Ludwig, have decided to go their separate ways. The Sharknado star shared the sad announcement on social media Thursday.
Ian Ziering Announces Split
“It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Erin and I are splitting up. With our hectic work schedules, we could not be busier, and over the last few years have grown apart. She is one of the most incredible women I have ever met and the best mom to our kids,” he captioned the post.
Ziering decided to share the news of their divorce amid rumors swirling, as the 55-year-old also explained they will work together to co-parent their two daughters — 8-year-old Mia Loren and 6-year-old Penna Mae.
“It has come to my attention that things are being written and said to sensationalize a situation that is simply not sensational,” Ziering revealed.
BH90210 Star Sets the Record Straight
“Any quote attributed to me is completely false and solely meant by haters to undermine our intention to continue to get along, protect and raise our daughters, and be examples of successful co-parents. We ask that you respect our privacy at this difficult time as we focus on what is important to us, our girls.”
The news of their split comes just a couple of months after the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot — BH90210 — finished airing its first season. Ziering, who plays a heightened and fictionalized version of himself on the show, coincidentally splits from his wife in the series after finding out she cheated on him.
Personal History
This will be the second divorce for Ziering, who previously married model and actress Nikki Schieler Ziering in 1997 and divorced in 2002.
Ziering and Ludwig first started dating over Labor Day in 2009 and announced their engagement in February 2010. They then tied the knot in by May 2015 and announced they were expecting their first child five months later.
