Prepare yourselves, Beyhive, because Beyoncé is heading to Netflix! The superstar is releasing a new documentary called Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé, and she released the first trailer on Monday, April 8.
The documentary features footage from Bey’s 2018 Coachella performance, as well as a number of behind-the-scenes clips. In the trailer, which you can see above, the mother of three is seen rehearsing as Maya Angelou speaks.
“I want to be representative of my race-the human race. I have a chance to show how kind we can be, how intelligent and generous we can be. I have a chance to teach, to love and to laugh.
“I know that when I finish doing what I’m sent here to do I will be called home and I will go home without any fear, trepidations, wondering what’s going to happen,” Angelou says.
Netflix said the documentary will document all the preparation that went into her Coachella performance. “An in-depth look at Beyoncé’s celebrated 2018 Coachella performance from creative concept to cultural movement. #beyoncehomecoming,” Netflix said in a tweet.
Of course, fans went crazy following the announcement and many shared their excitement for the documentary on Twitter.
“Netflix’s servers are going to crash when this drops…I’m here for it!” one person tweeted. “I can’t wait to watch this & I really hope @netflix doesn’t crash on April 17. #beyoncehomecoming,” another fan wrote.
Somebody else added, “Brace yourselves. The queen is coming. So who’s watching with me?” One other fan wrote, “So what we all wearing and eating on April 17? when do we start live tweeting?”
Fans will get to watch the documentary when it premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, April 17.
