The Long Night, AKA as the Battle of Winterfell, was one of the craziest episodes of Game of Thrones ever, as some of our favorite characters finally bit the dust and others had major heroic moments. The cast and crew spent a whopping 55 nights shooting this intense episode, so it’s no secret it was a labor of love.
In the above clip (be warned, there is some profanity), fans can now go behind the scenes and see how they filmed the incredible battle sequences. Not only was it a serious undertaking for actors like Kit Harington (Jon), Emilia Clarke (Dany), and many others, it was also very strenuous for the set designers, producers, and cameramen.
After all, they had to get used to being awake all night and sleeping during the day — which is rough on anyone but to do it for that many weeks straight certainly had to have taken a toll on actors and the crew.
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) and Sophie Turner (Sansa) also takes viewers into what it was like to film down in the scary crypt, with nothing to light their way but candles for those frightening moments when the dead were awoken by the Night King. Watch the clip above!
