Bachelorette Star Wells Adams Talks About Sarah Hyland’s Health Problems

Bachelorette star Wells Adams can’t believe how strong his girlfriend Sarah Hyland is.

The Modern Family star recently opened up about her health problems and even revealed she contemplated suicide while dealing with her kidney dysplasia.

Her 34-year-old boyfriend explained to Us Weekly why he’s so impressed with her strength and resilience.

“Imagine having a vital organ replaced. Imagine having 16 surgeries, going to hundreds of doctors visits and taking thousands of pills,” he said.

“Imagine losing crazy weight because of dialysis, medication side effects and stress. Then imagine, having to do it all over again.”

He continued, “This time keeping it quiet while you recovered, all while trolls on the internet judged you for your appearance.”

And, not only was she dealing with her health, but she was also filming Modern Family at the same time.

“Oh, and throw in filming the funniest show on TV and executive producing and starring in a movie … and never breaking down,” he expressed.

“Never losing it. I know Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman on film, but Sarah is the real-life version.”

In a recent issue of Self Magazine, Sarah shared that her body had started rejecting a kidney transplant.

“What most people don’t know is that about two years ago exactly I went into rejection,” she said.

“We did all of these tests and all of these treatments to try and save the kidney. Christmas break, New Year’s, Thanksgiving, my birthday — all of that spent in the hospital.”

She explained, “When a family member gives you a second chance at life and it fails, it almost feels like it’s your fault. It’s not, but it does.”

She continued, “I was very depressed. For a long time, I was contemplating suicide, because I didn’t want to fail my little brother like I failed my dad.”

It’s heartbreaking to hear about how much Sarah has struggled with her health.

But we are so glad that she has someone as sweet and caring as Wells by her side through anything that might come her way!
