Former Bachelorette star JoJo Fletcher and her fiancé Jordan Rodgers are opening up about a time when they almost decided to call it quits on their relationship.
Though the pair is happy now and enjoying life as an engaged couple, the first year of their relationship was not easy at all.
They told E! News they had a very hard first year of their romance following their time on The Bachelorette.
“We were open and one of the web series episodes, maybe episode two, was kind of about the first year,” JoJo explained.
“The first year was tough and it takes a lot of work. You meet each other in a very different environment and then you get to reality and you’re merging your lives together, so there was a lot of work that was involved of getting to know each other.”
He continued, “We had this promise on the table and our lives are trying to figure out where they fit and how they mesh.”
They’ve been able to work through their issues, but they still have not set a wedding date just yet.
“I feel like I let everyone down,” JoJo said when she was asked about the wedding planning.
“We don’t have a date set yet, but I think it’s a good thing to share that the first year was just bad, really. The first year wasn’t that easy, so I don’t feel like we really got to enjoy that first year together.”
She continued, “I think the reason why our engagement is long is because we’re enjoying this really great place that we’re in. It’s coming, just when the moment is right it’s going to happen.”
Not to mention, they are also focused on their upcoming web series, which will show a different side of the couple.
“We just wanted a platform or an outlet to be able to talk about everything that people don’t get to see,” Jordan said.
“They fell in love with our love story and they saw that. They see a little bit here and there on Instagram, but we wanted an opportunity to be able to share where we’re at in life.”
JoJo also shared, “Instagram is an outlet, but it’s kind of overwhelming. It’s easier for us to be able to talk through things and show different parts of our lives.”
