Former Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher has some sound advice for any woman who wants to be on The Bachelor.

Though it looks like it’s all fun and games, being on the ABC reality show can also come at a pretty hefty price.

In fact, JoJo explained to CNBC that most people have to quit their jobs in order to go on the show.

“I think one of the biggest things for a lot of people who go on to the show is it’s kind of scary because if you do get selected, you pretty much have to quit your job,” she shared.

“Or you have to have a very nice boss who’s going to let you take off a big chunk of time.”

She continued, “So if you do have to quit your job and you’re kind of putting your financial situation at risk, I would really make smart choices with your money. Save where you can.”

Not to mention, the women on The Bachelor have to provide their own clothing, which can take a toll on the finances.

“I do remember me and my mom being very stressed out when I got the call that I was going to go on the show,” she shared.

“We went out and we bought a ton of dresses and I just remember thinking to myself, ‘I really hope I don’t get cut on this first night because I’m not sure I can return all those.’”

She continued, “It is an investment, hopefully you get to wear all those beautiful pieces and if not, hopefully there’s a really good return policy!”

And, while some women choose expensive clothing, JoJo says you can definitely do it on a budget.

“And honestly, you don’t have to go all out and buy these extravagant pieces. You can find pieces that are affordable and beautiful, and you’re going to look great in them anyways.”
