Bachelor contestant Demi Burnett wasn’t afraid to get honest about her family’s past during the season premiere last week.
In fact, she revealed that her mother, Tina Jean Jordan, was in prison for embezzlement at the time of filming.
“My mom is actually going to get out very soon and the next time I would potentially see her would be with Colton,” she said in the episode.
According to Life & Style, Tina was actually released from prison on November 23, 2018, which came shortly after the Bachelor finished filming.
She was sentenced to 18 months at FMC Carswell prison in Texas for conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
She was sentenced on July 24, 2017, and spent the last six months in a halfway house.
Not to mention, she served time for embezzlement in 2007, too, and she has a number of other charges on her record.
She committed grand theft, violated her probation, and even committed forgery.
Aside from the drama around her mom’s criminal past, Demi has been making headlines for other reasons.
After just one episode, Demi has risen as the likely new villain of this Bachelor season, and on top of that, she has also been seen spending time with Big Brother villain Paul Calafiore!
For those who don’t know who Paul is, he was recently caught cheating on fellow Bachelor Nation star Danielle Maltby with Cara Maria Sorbello.
However, though Demi and Paul were recently spotted together, a source told Us Weekly that there’s nothing romantic going on.
“Paulie understands that he’s the ultimate villain on TV right now. He knows that people see him a certain way, but ultimately, he’s always there to help people if they want to chat,” a source shared.
Do you think there is something going on between Demi and Paulie? Do you think Demi is going to be the villain this season on The Bachelor? Let us know what you think!
