We finally have answers about the tragic death of former Bachelor star Cristy Caserta.
According to TMZ, which obtained the autopsy report on Monday, January 14, the former reality star’s cause of death was an enlarged heart and an overactive thyroid.
The news comes three months after the 38-year-old died of what was believed at the time to be a seizure.
Cristy, who was a contestant on Brad Womack’s Season of The Bachelor, was in class at a school in Sunrise, Florida when her fellow students noticed something was wrong.
“The students around her noticed her coffee fell to the ground and thought maybe she fell asleep, but she was unresponsive when they approached her,” an officer told Us Weekly.
“They called 911, and Fire Rescue showed up and started CPR and she was still unresponsive.”
Cristy went into cardiac arrest and the paramedics tried to resuscitate her, but she was sadly pronounced dead at 8:59 a.m. at Westside Regional Medical Center.

Bachelor Nation sent their condolences, including former Bachelorette star Emily Maynard who had competed on the same season of The Bachelor as Cristy.
“Being on a show like The Bachelor, you truly form relationships that are so special because it’s an experience no one else can relate to,” she shared.
“I’m grateful for my memories with Cristy and will be praying for her family and friends.”
Fellow contestant Ashley Spivey also said, “I’m absolutely heartbroken about Cristy. She was one of the kindest people I met on the first night of the show and she continued to be an amazing friend.”
She continued, “She was as smart and funny as she was beautiful. She will be deeply missed in this world.”
