Bachelor in Paradise star Jade Roper dramatically gave birth to her little boy, Brooks Easton, a week ago in her own closet, but the mother of two is getting real about her postpartum body.
Roper took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal what her body looks now that her son is born. Not only is she proud of what her body was able to accomplish, but she also hopes by sharing that, other women will feel less alone when it comes to their postpartum bodies.
“Women’s bodies are seriously phenomenal! It’s taking my uterus more time to return to its normal state this time around, but honestly I have never loved my body more than I have this postpartum,” she shared.
“A lot of you have asked about my recovery, and I received several stitches and am slowly healing physically — the mental and emotional healing is hard to put a finger on, but I am giving myself grace to process everything.
“But after such an overwhelming labor and delivery, I have so much respect for my body and the journey it’s been on this year to grow and bring this perfect little joy into my life. So in love, so thankful. #oneweekpostpartum #4thtrimester.”
What she wrote has struck a nerve for many of her followers. Fellow Bachelor Nation star Jamie Otis commented on Roper’s post and thanked her for being honest about her recovery.
“Thanks for normalizing what post pregnancy *really* looks like! Hollywood makes it seem like women ‘bounce back’ so quickly, but that just isn’t the case. Heck, between the hemorrhoids and the stitches I could barely walk. Thanks for always keeping it real,” she shared.
Roper and her husband Tanner Tolbert welcomed their second child on July 29 and have been adjusting to life with two little kiddos. What do you think of Roper’s post? Let us know all of your thoughts in the comments section below.
