Another season of The Bachelor, another controversial contestant.
The 30 women who will be competing for Colton Underwood’s heart were released yesterday. One woman in particular — Tracy Shapoff — may already have some explaining to do.
A few of Tracy’s old tweets resurfaced after her name was announced, and it doesn’t look good for the 31-year-old.
In these tweets Tracy criticizes The Bachelor— you know, the show she’s now on — shames overweight women, and even uses the r-word.
“Do ppl really think they’re finding love on reality tv…or am I just the idiot that watches it?” she tweeted back in 2010.
“Wish these fat old women on the treadmill would shut the hell up stop dancing and just work out,” she wrote.
She also shared, “Liposuction is retarded…stop wasting your money and just get your fat ass to the gym.”
This is not the first time a Bachelor contestant has offended people on social media.
Bachelorette contestant — and Becca Kufrin’s fiancé — Garrett Yrigoyen came under fire last season after he liked controversial posts on Instagram.
“To those who I have hurt and offended: This is all new to me. I went on the Bachelorette for the adventure and possibility of falling in love, not fame,” he said on Instagram.
“I am sorry to those who I offended and I also take full responsibility for my ‘likes’ on Instagram that were hurtful and offensive.”
He continued, “garrett_yrigs12 was my former Instagram handle and I decided to take it down and start fresh because I have learned an extremely valuable lesson and am taking steps to grow, become more educated, and be a better version of myself.”
