On this week’s episode of The Bachelor, Tayshia opened up to Colton Underwood about the hardest thing she’s ever been through.
“Tonight I need to remain fearless because I have a little bit of a heavy subject to talk about with Colton,” she said in the episode.
“It’s kind of scary to talk to him about deeper, more personal things, but I’m just going to live in the moment and trust him.”
The 28-year-old revealed that she recently got divorced from her husband and how their split has affected her life.
“There’s a lot to me that makes me, me. The past year and a half has been hard for me. I was married and I got a divorce. I married my first boyfriend, and was with him for six years or so,” she said.
“I guess I could kind of sense we weren’t doing very well and I think that’s why I fought so hard just to try and do as much as I possibly could.”
She opened up even further, saying, “Being a Christian woman you think you get married once and that’s going to be it. You expect that from your partner as well. But you can’t make somebody want to be married.”

Despite going through heartbreak, Tayshia knows it’s made her a stronger person.
“It’s the toughest thing I’ve gone through and I think that’s what’s made me so strong and fearless,” she said.
“Coming here to meet you, if my fear would’ve stopped me, I would’ve regretted that. I would’ve missed all of this.”
And, not only was Colton proud of Tayshia for opening up, he could relate to her struggle.
“I know that’s not easy to talk about. I have divorced parents. I have learned that I can’t be the one to judge somebody’s happiness,” he said.
“If you weren’t happy, you’re making the best choice and the best decision for you. Because you know what you want and you know what you deserve.”
