Well, this is certainly one way to stand out on The Bachelor!
Colton Underwood’s season starts Monday, January 7, which means we will be introduced to all the women competing for his affection.
It can be tough to get attention on the first night, especially because there are so many other women, so one contestant decided to fake an accent.
Yep, that’s right — Briana, who is a 26-year-old from Los Angeles — decided to pretend to be Australian while meeting Colton.
“You’ve got a nice accent. Where are you from?” Colton says when they first met outside of the mansion.
“The accent, it’s Australian, I was hoping that you’re kind of a sucker for accents,” she replies.
“I am,” he says.
“I didn’t know what you’d think about it,” she says.
“I love it,” Colton says back with a smile.
But don’t worry, she doesn’t pretend to have the accent for very long. As she walks away from Colton, she finally reveals the truth.
“I’m not really Australian. But you have to do what you can to stand out!” she says.
Needless to say, fans are already obsessed with Briana and love that she got really creative.
“Technically she didn’t lie… she just said the accent was australian, not that she’s australian,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If this is just a day 1 thing to stand out, no big deal. It’s hilarious. But if this carries on late through the season, oh boy lol,” another person wrote.
One more person added, “Well she didn’t lie. He asked her where she’s from and she said her accent is Australian not her. Love it!”
What do you think of the accent? Was it a good way for Briana to get Colton’s attention? Let us know what you think!
