Bachelor Colton Underwood Says Split From Aly Raisman Was His “Worst Heartbreak”

Bachelor Colton Underwood is opening up about a past heartbreak that taught him all about love.

The leading man was a guest on the LadyGang podcast this week and spoke about the few former relationships he had before being a contestant on The Bachelorette.

Though he was a virgin when he went on the show, Colton explained he “always dated to marry,” rather than just sleep around.

Not to mention, he got honest while talking about his former girlfriend Aly Raisman, who he called his “first love.”

He also said it was his “worst heartbreak.”

“While it was confusing and hard in the beginning, it also taught me a lot about myself: what I need, what I want, what I can do better in a relationship,” he said.

“It was a big step for me. It was really tough.”

Aly and Colton dated after the former NFL star recorded a video for the gymnast congratulating her on her success at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

“My roommate, my teammates, everybody over here is super proud of you,” he said in the video that went viral.

“If you’re ever in San Jose and want to go on a double date.”

Aly then tweeted back her response, “@Colt3FIVE thanks for the sweet video…. looking forward to meeting you :)”

They made their red carpet debut in December 2016, but seemed to end their relationship in the summer of 2017.

“We’re taking a break right now. We’re still good friends and talk, but all that travel had been a nightmare,” Colton said at the time.

“It ended fine. We’re in a good place.”

Aly has not publicly dated anyone since her split from Colton over a year ago, but we’re sure it’s probably hard for her to see her ex dating on television!
