Season 2 of the Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why is now on hold after its Northern California location of Vallejo–15 miles south of Napa Valley–was ravaged by savage wildfires.
According to Deadline, the highly-praised drama produced by Selena Gomez went into an “unplanned hiatus” because “fires have not been contained and smoke in the area is pretty thick…”
The news source says production will likely start up again on Sunday.
Meanwhile, cast members have weighed in about the devastating series of fires that have claimed more than a dozen lives and destroyed more than 1,500 residential and commercial buildings.
Actor David Druid, the 19-year-old who plays Tyler Down, tweeted, “The NorCal/Bay Area has been my home for almost a year while filming 13 Reasons Why. My heart goes out to all affected by these awful fires.”
Fellow actor Dylan Minnette, who plays Clay Jense on the Netflix series, also hit Twitter. He wrote, “We film 13 Reasons Why in many of the areas in NorCal affected by these devastating fires. Sending love and thoughts to everyone involved.”
13 Reasons Why is set to return to Netflix in 2018.
