It was great to see both Christopher Sean (Paul) and Colton Little (Andrew) appear once again on Days of Our Lives while Marlena (Deidre Hall) and Steve (Stephen Nichols) continued their search for John (the late Drake Hogestyn). It is inevitable that they will return to play out the aftermath of his death and funeral. But I think they should hang around Salem long-term.
Hero Complex
Both characters are the children of legacy characters – Andrew is the son of Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) and Kimberly (Patsy Pease); Paul is John’s son. While the nature of their returns will be somber, each could easily fold back into the fabric of the show. They could weather the death of John together, with Paul leaning on Andrew, who is facing his own guilty feelings because his father Shane is alive and well while being part of a dangerous organization. That would also give Paul a chance to mourn with his brother, Brady (Eric Martsolf) deepening their bond. Maybe they decide to hang up their respective careers that put each other at risk, so they can build a more stable and less dangerous life. There are endless possibilities and the return of both Sean and Little would be a welcome one.
History Lesson
Andrew Donovan and Paul Narita’s relationship began with a spark of mutual respect during high-stakes ISA missions in Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem. Initially brought together by their shared sense of duty—Andrew as an ISA agent and Paul as a private investigator—they worked side by side to rescue John Black and Steve from Megan Hathaway’s captivity. Though there was an immediate connection, their lives pulled them in different directions, and they parted ways amicably. However, fate wasn’t finished with them. When their paths crossed again in Salem, what started as a reconnection quickly deepened into something more. The chemistry that once simmered beneath the surface now had space to grow. Their bond was rooted in shared values, trust, and a deep understanding of the challenges tied to their careers and family legacies. As they navigated the pressures of public life and personal expectations, their relationship blossomed—culminating in a heartfelt engagement, a testament to the love that had quietly taken root since their first mission together.

Their journey officially began in 2022, when they met during Beyond Salem: Chapter 2. After their initial meeting, they went their separate ways, but in early 2023, Andrew and Paul reconnected in Salem and began dating. By April of that year, their bond had grown strong enough that Paul proposed—and Andrew said yes. In 2024, they were living together in San Francisco, returning to Salem in July to attend Theresa Donovan’s wedding, where Andrew proudly walked his sister down the aisle with Paul by his side. By 2025, their relationship remained solid despite the continued demands of their professional lives, proving that what began as a mission-driven partnership had transformed into a lasting and meaningful love.
