Ever since Days of our Lives revealed that Craig Wesley is cheating on his wife, Nancy Wesley, with a man, fans have cried foul. We watched Craig and Nancy for years. They weren’t just in love, they were in serious lust. Craig found his wife hot — despite her not being “conventionally” beautiful. They schemed together and they shared everything — including two daughters. So where is this affair coming from?

If DAYS wanted to do a late-in-life coming-out story with an established character, they had a much more logical choice. How about John Black (Drake Hogysten)? Hear us out:
I Know Nothing
When John first arrived in Salem, he had complete amnesia. He had no idea who he was. Circumstances made him believe he was Roman Brady, the husband of Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Okay. John fell in love with Marlena. John fell for Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) late mother, Isabella, and, for a while there, with Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson at the time).
He also apparently somewhere along the way had an affair with Paul’s mother. He was even, at one point, considered as a candidate for Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) dad, thanks to John’s affair with Leo’s mother, Diana Colville (Judith Chapman).

So what we’re saying is, yes, John has had many relationships with women. But we still don’t know everything he was up to before he showed up all bandaged in Salem.
Days of our Lives: Blast From the Past
We know he’s been a mercenary and priest, so why couldn’t he have had a relationship with a man that he can’t remember, either? Not being able to remember means that John never lied to Marlena the way Craig (Kevin Spirtas) has been lying to Nancy (Patrika Darbo). He’s done nothing wrong. He is still the hero he always was, and fans’ memories haven’t been messed with. Extra points if John’s old lover is a handsome, blond psychiatrist…whom John used to call Doc.
