Who Did This Cutie, Missing A Few Teeth, Grow Up To Play On Soaps?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps, but can you guess who this cutie, even while missing a few teeth, grew up to be?

Star of the Soaps

Obviously, this young man (now all grown up) is either currently starring in, or is an alum of, one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.

So try these on for size. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a soap hopper. He was married to a former co-star with whom he shares a daughter. He has played a set of twins and two real-life notables. And he performed in a band alongside fellow daytime actors.

But just who he can be? Is this a photograph of Kyle Lowder (Rick Forrester, BB), Brandon Barash (Jake DiMera, DAYS), William deVry (ex-Julian Jerome, GH), or Scott Reeves (Ryan McNeil, YR)?

Kyle Lowder

In addition to his role as BB’s Rick, Lowder played two characters on DAYS (Brady Black and Rex Brady), though they weren’t twins. He was married to his former DAYS co-star, Arianne Zucker (Nicole), and the couple welcomed a daughter, Isabella. However, he never formed a band with any fellow soapers, and he hasn’t taken on the guise of other famous persons.

What do you think? Post a comment!

William deVry

deVry has had roles in Port Charles (ex-Tim Dolan), All My Children (Michael Cambias), BB (ex-Storm Logan), and GH, and he’s been in a relationship with Port Charles alum Rebecca Staab for decades. However, the two do not share a child (other than of the furry variety), deVry never played in a band with fellow cohorts, and he hasn’t played a real-life person living or dead.

Scott Reeves

Reeves has appeared in four daily soaps – DAYS (ex-Jake Hogansen), YR (ex-Ryan McNeil), As the World Turns (as himself), and GH (ex-Steven Webber, M.D.) – and he is one of the four members of the ’80s cover rock band, “Port Chuck” which includes fellow GH stars Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) and Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli). And though he did play Keith Dilley in the biographical made-for-TV film Half a Dozen Babies (opposite his real-life wife, DAYS alum Melissa Reeves), he hasn’t portrayed twins.

Brandon Barash

Barash has been playing Jake Lambert, the good twin to the very deceased and very brooding Stefan DiMera (a role Barash helmed between March and October 2019), since April 2020.

His other acting credits include a stint on GH (ex-Johnny Zacchara), a guest appearance on Timeless where he played noted novelist Ernest Hemingway, and a main role in the made-for-TV biopic The Unauthorized Melrose Place Story – he played Thomas Calabro famous for his turn as MP’s despicable M.D. Michael Mancini. Barash is also a member of “Port Chuck.”

So, if you guessed that the future star of soaps seen in the image above was Brandon Barash, who shares a darling daughter with former spouse (and former GH co-star) Kirsten Storms (Maxie), then you were absolutely correct!
