Eric Martsolf’s post as the most unlucky-at-love character on soaps forges on.

His Days of Our Lives (DOOL) alter ego, Brady Black, is on the verge of waving goodbye to another leading lady, when Arianne Zucker departs as Nicole later this year. It means Brady will have to pick up the pieces and move on — again!

What are the soap’s plans for Martsolf and his character moving forward? Here are five scenarios the show could explore.

A Broe Reunion
Once hopelessly in love and married, Brady and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) went their separate ways long before Martsolf took over the role of John and Isabella’s son.

Perhaps it’s time to test his and Bjorlin’s romantic chemistry. Chloe’s unattached. Brady’s unattached. The duo could start out commiserating over Nicole’s departure and, slowly, find themselves drawn to each other for more.

Reconnecting with Melanie
Brady and Melanie (Molly Burnett) realized their love for each other at the worst possible time. Theresa (Jen Lilley) had already staked her claim to her son Tate’s father and threatened to move to California with the child unless Melanie split with Brady and left Salem.

Now that Theresa’s out of the picture, Melanie could finally return, and she and Brady could explore a future together.

Kristen: Take II
Has there ever been a more controversial match for Brady than his father John’s ex, Kristen (Eileen Davidson)? Absolutely not. Nevertheless, Martsolf and Davidson’s stunning pairing had that sizzle factor.

The match even earned the two actors Daytime Emmy Awards in 2012. (Davidson won Outstanding Lead Actress, while Martsolf nabbed Outstanding Supporting Actor.) Perhaps it’s time to go down that contentious road again.

Tracking Down Theresa
Brady never learned the real reason why Theresa abandoned him and their son. What if he suddenly received a letter from his baby mama, explaining that she was in trouble and desperate for his help.

Brady could head off on an adventure to find her and finally learn why she left him. If Jen Lilley’s unavailable to return to the role, the soap could always recast.

That Other Jen
Brady and his stepbrother Eric (Greg Vaughan) have been involved with the same woman before. They both loved and lost Nicole, and they both had bizarre “flings” with Kristen. The pair also share close relationships with Jennifer (Melissa Reeves).

Now that Eric has called it quits with Jen, what if Brady suddenly began seeing his friend in a new light? It has all the makings of an intriguing triangle.
