Days of our Lives is writing every show like it’s a Friday episode. And that’s a fabulous thing. Johnny DiMera and Chanel Dupree ran off and eloped in Italy – Boom! EJ Dimera rips up his divorce papers in front of Sami Brady DiMera – Boom!
A Drama-Filled Days of our Lives Week
Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) is Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) kidnapper – Boom! Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) is out of her coma and, thanks to MarDevil (Deidre Hall), is seducing Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) – as Belle Black Brady (Martha Madison) is on her way to the same place for her promised anniversary surprise – Boom, Boom, Boom… and, oh, yeah, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is here to arrest EJ (Dan Feuerriegel). And here comes the Devil to set fire to the Horton fir tree. All this happened in ONE week. Merry Christmas! Deck the halls! Boom!
Those Were the Days
Once upon a time, you only had Fridays to hope for such an exciting twist. And now DAYS is delivering them on a daily basis. Which makes every episode Must See TV. Viewers can’t wait for the next afternoon to come, and that’s exactly the kind of tension that soap operas were created to deliver.

Where Did They Go?
If only the other shows remembered that. DAYS may be insane, DAYS may be over the top, DAYS may, at times, be cringy. But DAYS is rarely boring. Which is more than can be said for the other shows.
We honestly don’t understand Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) plan on The Young and the Restless, or why Jack Abbott is pining for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford)…again. On The Bold and the Beautiful, fully grown adults, with children of their own, are acting like whiny babies when it comes to their own parents, and on General Hospital, the holiday season brought a dead newborn. More Days of our Lives, please. On a daily basis.
