A double dose of interruptions – Ben’s stunning arrival, followed by Sonny’s surprise exit – couldn’t stop Chad and Abigail from remarrying on Days of Our Lives (DOOL).
Despite the mayhem, the couple’s nuptials ended up being picture perfect — filled with drama, romance, and a real down-to-earth family feeling.

The Slugger Bride
Having Abigail attack the intruding Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) with a powerful punch to his jaw was a major moment for the character, as she finally put her fears regarding her crazy ex behind her.
The scene transformed the former damsel in distress into a powerful woman; a woman who had overcome and was ready to move on with her life and commit to the man she loves, Chad.
Sonny’s Blessing
After Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Paul (Christopher Sean) split, Chad and Abigail put their wedding on hold. That is, until Sonny returned to St. Luke’s and insisted that his best friend and his bride go ahead with their plans.
He couldn’t bear it if the couple didn’t realize their dream because of his and Paul’s stalled nuptials, and he wanted to see them happy. Sonny’s blessing was the perfect touch to nudge the pair back into “I Do” mode.

Father’s Arrival
Father Louis’s appearance on the scene was a perfect mix of kismet and divine intervention. The missing priest was suddenly back in Salem and announced he was available to marry Chad and Abigail, after all. It was a sign that the pair were truly destined to wed before God and their family and friends who hadn’t left the church.
Wedding for Two (and a Half)
While the idea of a double wedding was obviously devised for storyline purposes, let’s face it, Chad and Abigail deserved their own special day, after their long winding road back to one another.
The couple deserved to be the center of attention and not to have to share the “stage” with anyone as they pledged their love. Well, that is, with one small exception. Having Abigail hold the pair’s young son Thomas in her arms during the ceremony totally solidified their happy union and family.
Put A Ring on It
When it came time to exchange rings, Chad surprised his bride by revealing the engagement sparkler he’d given her when he initially proposed to her. “How do you still have that?” asked Abigail, who was deeply touched.
“It’s the first ring I ever gave you,” whispered Chad. And with that ring, they wed, bringing their beautiful love story full circle.
