So it looks like both Rex and Mimi have been keeping themselves pretty busy while we’ve been watching the Days of Our Lives characters who actually live in Salem.
They met up again – off-camera. And then, hooked up – off-camera. Rex (Kyle Lowder) got engaged to Sarah (Linsay Godfrey) – off-camera, which is what kept Mimi (Farrah Fath) from telling him she’d given birth to their baby – off-camera.
Of course, now that both are back on camera, Mimi still can’t tell Rex about their daughter. That’s because she let Bonnie (Judi Evans) use the tot in her scheme to convince Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) that ‘Baby Bonnie’ is theirs as a way to stay out of prison.
Meanwhile, Rex keeps waxing poetic about how “connected” he feels to his new “niece.” (Anybody else curious about what the child’s actual name is? It can’t be Baby Bonnie. Mimi isn’t that stupid. Plus, she said, “THAT’S NOT HE NAME! Psst…we hear it’s Emily.)
Should Rex and Mimi reunite and form a happy family – onscreen? Here’s how over 3,000 fans voted.
To the Mex!
Rex and Mimi for the win, 79% of you cheer. This couple never got a fair shake the first time around, and you want to know what might happen if given a second chance. Plus, you have no investment whatsoever in Rex’s fiancé, Sarah.
Not only is she played by a new actress (as is Rex, though he’s more familiar), but the character is one that’s never been important beyond her background as Maggie’s (Suzanne Rogers) daughter. At least you know who Mimi is!
Newbie No-No
Three characters who haven’t been on the show in years, two of them played by new actors, and we should care why, 20% of the audience is scratching their head. It’s a triangle only in that three people are involved, but to say that anyone has rooting value is a stretch.
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
