In the Days of our Lives recap for Tuesday, December 12, 2023, Marcus Hunter’s loved ones — minus his youngest, come together to mourn his loss.
In addition, Leo vows to get even with Sloan, EJ tried to comfort his wife, and Chad makes a bad situation worse. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Jada (Elia Cantu) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) — with baby Jude Roman in tow — crossed outside the Brady Pub, and the result, not to mention the small talk, was as awkward as one would expect. The former granted the latter that she was glad that things worked out for him, happy even, and then asked for a change of subject. Luckily, the cardboard box she was carrying offered the perfect segue.
Jada relayed how Rafe (Galen Gering) had asked her to move in with him but insisted that it wasn’t what it looked like. She hadn’t made any decision yet. She was merely cleaning out her closet. If she winds up saying yes, then yay, less stuff to pack. If she winds up saying no, then yay, she’s got a jump start on her Spring Cleaning.

Later, Steve (Stephen Nichols) joined Jada at a table in the pub and inquired about her blue mood. Of course, there was the Eric of it all, but she’s ultra-sensitive this time of year anyway…and Steve knew exactly why. Namely, it’s the anniversary of her dad’s passing.
Jada was heartened that Steve had remembered, and he recalled how Marcus was his first best friend. It had been the two of them against the world for so many years. And, thanks to the leather keychain that Marcus made him, Steve always has a piece of his bestie with him wherever he goes. As for Jada, Marcus would be so proud of her. SO proud.
Meanwhile, Leo (Greg Rikaart) laid the blame for his bruised and battered face at Sloan’s (Jessica Serfaty) feet. He’d only gotten clobbered because he had a rare attack of conscience and nearly outed her dirty little secret. Good thing EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker) wouldn’t hear him out. Now he can “blackmail the Hell” out of her. Unless of course, she wants it to come out that she’s raising Nicole’s baby.
Of his list of demands, which included money, a job, a cute little place on the West side of Salem, power, world domination, a pony with a rainbow mohawk, a maybe a hot roll in the hay with her husband, Leo decided to prioritize Sloan getting Dimitri out of prison.
When Sloan balked, Leo threatened. The twosome’s tête-à-tête was interrupted by Eric’s return home so Leo scampered off. Almost immediately after, Leo learned from a rep at Statesville that Dimitri had been transferred to Supermax. He vowed to blow up Sloan’s world.
As the above happened, Sloan and Eric welcomed a visit from EJ and Nicole. Well, “welcomed” might be too strong a word. But, they did appreciate the baby onesie that the couple offered.
Having already tried and failed to disabuse Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) that he wasn’t the cause of his and Stephanie’s (Abigail Klein) breakup, Chad (Billy Flynn) found himself forced to tell Paulina (Jackée Harry) that he and Steph might no longer be working together…and it was all his fault.
Paulina was taken aback. After all, she’d been shipping them hard, as her daughter Chanel (Raven Bowens) would say. Madame Mayor encouraged Chad to go and talk to Steph (which he really should have already done) and make it clear that he’s very, very sorry for whatever boneheaded thing he did. Unless he doesn’t want her back.
Knowing that he very much does want her back, Chad headed over to the Johnson apartment. However, once there, he caught Steph leaning on Alex. Literally. The result of the klutz dropping the world’s most ridiculously oversized metal water bottle onto her foot.
Chad’s jealousy go the best of him, naturally. His accusations drove a hobbling Steph to ditch him and Alex and instead drive herself to the hospital to get her aching toe checked out. As for Chad and Alex, they decided to stick around and pop open some of Steve’s beers.
