Kayla is having to do without her better half, Steve, on Days of Our Lives, but Mary Beth Evans had Stephen Nichols by her side for a very special occasion.
Mary Beth Evans celebrated the marriage of her daughter, Katie, this past weekend and Stephen Nichols (Steve) was there to share the joy with his longtime co-star on not one, but two soaps. (Remember Stefan and Katherine on General Hospital?)
“Hugging the happiest mother of the bride and my best friend. #weddingday #truelove” — was what he said on a gorgeous picture of himself with Evans that she posted on Twitter. Nichols attended the event with his lovely wife, Lisa, by his side.
These two have great wedding karma — after all, when their onscreen characters had their first wedding in 1988, DAYS shot to Number 1 in the ratings. Sadly, for fans, the two haven’t been together in some time — not since Steve was picked up off-screen for espionage because of his bionic eye.
In real life, Nichols has been off the show since DAYS sent Steve to jail despite the actor agreeing to the show’s contract terms. While Nichols wasn’t supposed to gone for long, there’s been no word of him reporting back to the set — which means fans won’t see Steve in Salem for at least the next six months, if not longer.
At least we can enjoy seeing the actors together off set, as they remain close friends.
