Stephen Nichols Brings Steve Back To Days of our Lives Tomorrow

The long wait is finally over for Days of our Lives fans as Stephen Nichols prepares to make his triumphant return in Salem on Wednesday’s episode. Exactly how Steve is reintroduced has been kept under wraps but there’s one safe bet — it will be a huge surprise and not what you think.

Stephen Nichols Returns

Fans of the actor and his character, Steve “Patch” Johnson, have been waiting for this moment ever since Kayla’s (Mary Beth Evans) husband left her and Salem back in September of 2018. In the story, Steve was accused of treason, though someone had hijacked his bionic eye.

Rather than return to Kayla, who had lied to him about how he got the technology (she had entered into a secret deal with a man Steve hated — Stefan DiMera), he embarked on a search to get to the truth about who was really behind the treasonous endeavor since Stefan denied having any part of it.

The End of Stayla?
The infamous time jump the show has undertaken has shaken up some couples. After flash forwarding a year, fans learned that Steve silently returned divorce papers to his beloved wife and she has now embarked on a new relationship with his former brother-in-law, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth).

Things have changed a lot in Salem and on Days of our Lives since the last time he was around. For one thing, his brother Jack (Matthew Ashford) has returned from the dead while his beloved baby sister Adrienne (Judi Evans) traded places — dying at the hands of Will Horton (Chandler Massey).

Big Changes

There’s a chance that Steve will be walking into a bit of a hornet’s nest, with several people having a bone to pick with him about the way he has lived his life since leaving Salem. His son, Tripp (Lucas Adams), has left town. His two kids with Kayla are also not around. His partner, John (Drake Hogestyn), has been left to hold the bag of their detective agency, BlackPatch.

Will life return to normal once Steve returns? Don’t count on that to happen — at least not for a while. There will be some mystery still to unravel concerning his return but at least fans will have Stephen Nichols back — stay tuned to see how the rest of it gets sorted out.
