Days of Our Lives‘ newest star, Stacy Haiduk, was touched when Eileen Davidson sent her a supportive tweet after she debuted in the role Davidson made iconic.
It then felt like a mutual admiration society when Haiduk tweeted a sweet response back.
Now that Davidson (Ashley, The Young and the Restless) is stepping away from daytime, DAYS had to recast her multiple roles on the show.
The soap chose Haiduk — who had played similar ranging roles on Y&R when she was crazy-as-a-loon Patty Williams and beautiful and successful doctor, Emily Peterson.
Davidson knew the actress would be making her debut this week, which she did, and she sent a supportive tweet encouraging people to accept her former Y&R co-star in old DAYS roles.
“Big congratulations to @StaceHaiduk debuting as Kristen/Susan on @nbcdays this week!!! Stacey is a fantastic actress and I’m sure she will SLAY!!!! 💋❤️🎉”
Well, Haiduk made her debut as Susan on Tuesday and will be seen as Kristen shortly now that Susan has let the cat out of the bag that Kristen is still alive to Marlena (Deidre Hall), even if Marlena is trying like crazy to believe it isn’t true.
Haiduk saw Davidson’s kind words and sent her back a tweet, saying, “Thank you, Eileen, you’re amazing! This means SO much coming from You!! I am super excited and very grateful for this opportunity to be a part of @nbcdays. LOVE & LIGHT to You and All!! XOXO”
That sign-off, “love & light” is classic Haiduk, as she signs off most of her social media messages that way. Her sincere appreciation of Davidson’s words, especially considering the fact that Davidson won a Daytime Emmy for her work on DAYS, shows what a class act both women are.
Haiduk is already winning praise for her interpretation of Susan and the anticipation of seeing her as Kristen is building. Stay tuned!
