Weekly Days of Our Lives Spoilers July 29 – Aug 2: Heartbreaking Goodbyes

For the week of July 29 – August 2 on Days of Our Lives, spoilers focus on heartbreaking goodbyes as Eric and Nicole bid adieu to Salem.

Au Revoir, Ericole

Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole (Arianne Zucker – find out what she’s been up to since leaving DAYS) feel the only way to escape EJ’s (Daniel Feuerriegel) wrath and his thirst for revenge is to get out of town. So far, the Salem DA has threatened to tell Holly (Ashley Puzemis) that Eric is the one who killed her father. In addition, he purposely dropped the ball on Eric’s divorce to Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) and has promised to hold up his divorce to Nicole for years.

Sadly, the two decide to bid adieu to Salem and move to Paris with Jude (Oliver McLarty). But at least they’ll be together this time, right? On Monday, July 29, Eric and Nicole have heartfelt goodbyes with their loved ones before leaving the town and the country.

New Roles

Unsurprisingly, the Salem PD is in a bit of disarray now that Commissioner Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) is in a coma, thanks to Connie (Julie Dove). Look for Paulina (Jackée Harry) to appoint Jada (Elia Cantu) to a new role. Will Detective Hunter suddenly become the new commissioner? There’s an opening, and she’s qualified.

Meanwhile, we’re watching every step of a canceled soap find a new life. Body & Soul is back, baby, and Abe (James Reynolds) and Kate (Lauren Koslow) are responsible for the drama’s reversal of fortune. Get ready for them to hold an open casting call, which brings in a familiar face. Who could it be? Any guesses? Wait…aren’t all the faces on Body & Soul familiar?

Odds and Ends

At the end of the week, Paul (Christopher Sean) offers support to Marlena (Deidre Hall). First, how great is it that Paul’s still around after he came in for the disastrous double wedding? Second, we’re so happy he’ll be there for Marlena, considering she doesn’t have John (Drake Hogestyn) to lean on right now. Undoubtedly, she feels her husband’s absence, especially since her son Eric has just left town. Marlena needs all the support she can get!

Elsewhere, Sarah (Linsey Godfrey — who recently celebrated a birthday) encourages Xander (Paul Telfer) to reconcile with his mother. Sarah feels Fiona’s (Serena Scott Thomas) story of why she stayed away from Xander is genuine and sincere. So, she has no problem encouraging Xander to reconcile with his mom. However, Xander understandably holds an immense amount of resentment for his mother. After all, she lied to him and abandoned him. Will Xander, ultimately, listen to Sarah?

Finally, nobody does downward spirals better than Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). Recent events have pushed him off the wagon. Consequently, his latest move involves recovering from a drunken binge. Shocker. Brady needs a wake-up call, and he needs it now.
