Weekly Days of Our Lives Spoilers December 2-6: Reunions and Returns as Salem Says Goodbye to Doug

For the week of December 2-6, Days of Our Lives spoilers focus on saying goodbye to a legend. Many Salem notables of the past return to say goodbye to Doug Williams after he passed away on Thanksgiving.

Rest in Peace, Doug Williams

Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) experienced heartbreak on Thanksgiving when the love of her life, Doug Williams, passed away in his sleep. Now, it’s time for Salem to gather to say goodbye to Doug. Look for his loved ones from near and far to gather in Salem for his memorial service.

Doug’s goodbye also coincides with DAYS crossing the 15,000th episode milestone. Earlier this year, the soap’s executive producer Ken Corday said that this tribute to Doug and his late portrayer, Bill Hayes, “will resonate a long time to come with our viewers.”

Returns and Reunions

As expected, Doug’s death will result in several big returns and reunions. For example, Hope arrives to say goodbye to her dad as Shawn and Ciara show up for an emotional reunion. It’s been a minute since Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and her kids were all in Salem together. In addition to paying tribute to such an amazing father and grandfather, it will be time to find out what’s going on with Bo (Peter Reckell), Shawn’s (Brandon Beemer) sobriety, and Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) life with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson).

Meanwhile, Marlena (Deidre Hall) reunites with a familiar face from the past. She is surprised when Liz Chandler (Gloria Loring) shows up on her doorstep. Liz hasn’t visited Salem for decades, four of them to be exact.

Odds and Ends

Thankfully, Eli, Lani, and twins Jules and Carver are in town because they can help support Julie during this heartbreaking time. Plus, look for Eli (Lamon Archey) to take the opportunity to school his wife on Doug Williams 101 when he shares some of Doug’s colorful history with Lani (Sal Stowers).

Also, the contents of the Horton time capsule are revealed. That means they must finally figure out how to get it open. What treasures await the Hortons and will any of those items have an effect on anything or anyone in the present? Or will this simply be a nostalgic walk down memory lane?

Finally, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) finds Julie and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) sharing family stories with a new face in town. Who is this new face? Could it be someone connected to the Horton clan?
