For the week of August 5 – August 9 on Days of Our Lives, spoilers focus on secrets, weddings, reunions, and awkward moments.
Wedding Redux
Xander (Paul Telfer) and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) must have a healthy fear of weddings. Unfortunately, they either don’t happen, or the subsequent marriage doesn’t last. They’ve been through a lot, but they’re going to attempt a nuptial one more time. (Check out a sneak peek of what’s happening on DAYS Monday?)
No more double wedding disasters for them. They want to cross the finish line and utter those beautiful words where they vow to love each other for all the days of their lives. Well, rest assured. According to teasers, Xander and Sarah — checks our notes — actually tie the knot. Hallelujah, huzzah, and all the other celebratory words! Now, tell us that this marriage and their family unit will last, okay?
Secrets & Worries
Speaking of Xander and Sarah’s wedding, Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) should be in attendance. After all, she’s the mother of the groom. So far, Fiona’s son is unaware that she’s A) Off the wagon and B) Partaking in platonic booze bashes with another alcoholic — Brady Black (Eric Martsolf). The two former sober individuals agree to keep a secret. Is this about their private parties or something else?
Meanwhile, Brady’s dad is missing in action in Greece. Steve (Stephen Nichols) simply found a note with blood on it by Catharina’s grave, and lo and behold, the blood type matches his Black Patch bestie, John (Drake Hogestyn). Unsurprisingly, Marlena (Deidre Hall) worries about her husband. Where is he? When will he pop up again? Most importantly, is John okay? We have all the questions. Can someone give us answers?
Odds and Ends
Look who’s reuniting? Why it’s fellow doppelgangers and former prison pals Bonnie (Judi Evans) and Hattie (Deidre Hall). Hattie’s the new Charlemagne in the resurrected daytime drama Body & Soul. Hmmm…could executive producers Abe (James Reynolds) and Kate (Lauren Koslowi) eventually enlist Bonnie’s talents on the reboot? Does she have talents as an actress? That’s the question here. Furthermore, will we see Bonnie and Hattie party it up in hotel rooms like in the old days?
Look for one of our favorite couples — Andrew (Colton Little) and Paul (Christopher Sean) — to log a little more airtime before they, unfortunately, leave town. Look for Andrew to offer advice to Paul. What could this be about? How do you deal with a sibling who’s also an addict? How can you track down a family member who’s MIA or all of the above? Can these two stay in town indefinitely, please? (Read up on Greg Vaughan’s surprising confession here)
Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Chanel (Raven Bowens) have an awkward cross with Connie (Julie Dove). Connie is decimating Salem’s male population right now. She’s killed Li Shin (Remington Hoffman), literally stabbed Rafe (Galen Gering) in the back, and has added Everett!Bobby (Blake Berris) to her list of crimes. Who’s here for Johnny and Chanel going Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew on us and figuring out Connie’s secret life? It’ll be like one of those Hallmark Movies murder mysteries. Chanel’s a baker, Johnny’s a soap opera director. But in their spare time, they fight the good fight and bring down the town criminals. It could happen.
