For the week of August 19 – August 23 on Days of Our Lives, spoilers focus on characters exhibiting critical behavior, wallowing in misery and martinis, and a potential breakthrough.
Critical, Party of One
Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) finally knows the truth. While we still would have LOVED EJ (Daniel Feuerriegel) being the one to uncover the delicate details of Stefan and Ava’s one-night stand, Connie (Julie Dove — who talks about the Marlena moment that made her cry here) was the one who spilled the tea. As the loyal assistant, she felt it was her duty. It totally isn’t because she wants to make Gabi pay for treating Li (Remington Hoffman) so horribly.
With Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) help, Gabi learned the truth. Then, she set up a trap at The Bistro, where she came clean. We can all look forward to Gabi excoriating Ava (Tamara Braun) and Stefan (Brandon Barash) on Monday, which means criticizing the hell out of her husband and boss. Gabi’s pretty good at that kind of thing.
Not Quite Total Recall
Did you see that Abigail — or whoever this person is — made a mysterious phone call? She told whoever was on the other end of the line that things were going according to plan. Who was she talking to? More importantly, who is she really?
Meanwhile, “Abigail” continues to adjust to life in Salem. Next week, EJ introduced himself to her. And then Chad (Billy Flynn) is heartened when she recalls a memory. Or should memory be in quotes?
Odds and Ends
The Body & Soul start-up adventures continue with Johnny (Carson Boatman) and Abe (James Reynolds) asking Chanel (Raven Bowens) and Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) to audition for the show. Will they be the actors behind the next great soap opera supercouple?
How did Brady (Eric Martsolf) get here again? It has been a while, but thanks to his falling off the wagon, he’s in the middle of yet another mess of his own making. Well, not all of his own. Much of the responsibility falls on Fiona’s British shoulders. She hit Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) and barely checked on her condition before taking off. And Fiona (Serena Scott Thomas) framed Brady for it. But he doesn’t know that yet.
Since Brady’s distracted, that should leave Tate (Leo Howard) and Holly (Ashley Puzemis) free and clear to be together, no drama, right? Wrong. Because Sophia (Madelyn Kientz) suddenly makes a play for Tate. Guess she’s not over her crush, is she? And at this point, she owes no allegiance to her former bestie, Holly.
